Thanks to an anonymous reader for your encouraging words. For any visitors, I have not had the time to maintain this page as of late.
Field Day on the 1st was a whole lot of sweaty, crazy fun. Saw Cassius, Riton, Jack Beats, Skream and Benga, Miami Horror, The Juan Maclean, Fake Blood, 2 Many DJ's made the crowd lose their sh*t, slaying the 1 and 2's, CDj's, stages.
Aussie readers, those down under right now, if you are in front of the tube this Thursday night make sure you watch BBC's Seven Ages of Rock, screening at 8:35pm this Thursday evening on ABC 1.

It is impossible to keep up with all the music dropping nowdays. To be frank it's better not to.
You begin to notice that there are a million mixes floating round with a lot of the same throwaway crud, everywhere you turn. One can only shudder to think how much bad music is getting played in clubs worldwide nowdays. Instead of chasing all those tunes you're bound to get sick of after a few listens, go here, one of the best blogs I've ever come across, the music is amazing, timeless, filled with soul, honest and built to last.
Shout out to DJ Day, saw this particular site listed over in his link section. You are already checking his great Like A Throttle site, aren't you?
Shout out to the brother Tony G. (that's one of his sketches above). He is one of the most talented, unique, dynamic artists Sydney has ever produced. He's been doing his thing for as long as I can remember, this is his blog, he's just started it, you should visit it when you've got a minute to lay waste to.
(Pic from their performance at Melbourne venue, the Palace, while on the last Obese Block Party tour, from the official SS blog.)
Here's where you find it.
Their debut album "Towards The Light" is out now through Obese Records and it's Dope!
Shout to Felix over at Keep Moving for filming bits and pieces of SS's Sydney album launch, last Saturday night at the Oxford Art Factory. You can check that footage over there.
(He even included a cool image of an Akai MPC 2000, for lazy bloggers like me)
DJ Blueprint's (This Is Tomorrow) latest effort has been sitting in the Inbox for a while, but cause of my inability to string two words together, much less a whole post at various points in time over the last two weeks, the Inbox is where the Beat Tape 01 has stayed, till now.
Here's what the man had to say about the project:
"....30 minutes of blueprint beats, some old, some new. Enjoy and let me know what you think."
Dirty Waters blog founder, DJ Nes takes the listener on an amazing musical journey, using a plethora of classic jazz tracks. Mixes don't get much better than this. Highly recommended listening.
Sydney's own DJ Diaz stays killing it with the "Tales From The Crates" podcast, you can check it over at his DOPE blog Sin City Playground....Episode six is up now featuring an interview with the latest Elefant Traks signees Horrorshow, their album "The Grey Space" drops on August 16th.
You can catch Solo (Horrorshow) on the new Spit Syndicate album "Towards The Light", which is highly recommended....
Here's Oh Word's review of the much sought after, classic 1994 LP "Ghetto Chronicle Daily". While on the subject, in case you haven't checked one of Helsinki's illest music blogs in a minute..........
If you're starting to question the worth of your blog, as I have been for quite some time, then be sure to check out Skelliewag. Skelliewag grew out blogger Skellie's frustration at seeing a bunch of personal and hobby blogs go nowhere. Rather than hang up the towel she realised that she enjoyed the process of maintaining a blog and thus she decided to start a site offering tips to maximize blog hit rates and overall success, to those who want to enter the blog-o-sphere!
DJ Soul's blog is where it's at - loads of classic mixtapes, new Al Green, a post on the late great DJ Screw and how he pioneered the "chop and screwed" movement.....
Would be here, if I weren't! Really dope to see a Sydney night dedicated to original breaks. Toast to it's success. Very fresh line up. Hopefully someone records some of these sets.
Relatively new night Hoops is also taking place for the second time as I write this. Expect a whole lot of Crunk, Baltimore, Baile Funk, Dancehall, Hip Hop & Hyphy. From all reports it is going off like the Biz! The line up reads as follows: DJ's Ninalavegas, Anna Lunoe and Bad Ezzy, plus Vivienne Kingswood vs. DJ Crane, Amillionaire, Rudy Jackson (Lordz of the Fly) with Banatronic & Hobosexual returning to the decks. Catcall shake n’ pop live with the HOOPS dancehall dancers will also be performing.
Some of you would have seen the following bits and pieces and some of you wouldn't.
Loose Ends:
Two part Neek The Exotic feature from one of Melbourne's biggest rap fiends ands realest scribes. Keep a look out for Robbie's interview with Ali-Ba-Ski (aka Lord Alibaski).
LA's DJ Mike B dropped a crazy DJ Sneak post a while back.
Sean D. did a mammoth Halloween post from the darkside that's well worth taking a look at.
New Jersey's DJ Nes recently posted a moving tribute to the late NJ graff legend "NaceOne" along with the link to a page dedicated to "NaceOne" on My Space with 100+ flicks of his work.
Every set I've heard recorded live from the Banana Split night at the LAX nightclub has been nothing short of incredible. This week's line-up is definitely one of the illest: Special guests Morse Code, Steve 1der, alongside residents Mike B, Steve Aoki, AM.
Here are some cool photos from Blog Erotyczny of girls and wandering cats you may have missed.
Just caught the video to LCD Soundsystem's - "Someone Great". Truly fresh, original, classy vid.
Speaking of vids, Panda Bear's - "Comfy In Nautica" clip, directed by Patrick O'Dell and Sam Salganik, is amazing.
Check the Wildstyle vs Beat Street post over at the magazine for ageing b-boys website, to hear Fab 5 Freddy playing exclusive audio from 'Wildstyle' before it's general release, on Afrika Islam's legendary 'Zulu Beat' radio program. Give Renski a pound for digging up this historic audio recording.
Even though the posts here are fairly irregular, there are certainly some golden recollections of Biz Markie deejaying, phone messages, conversations and discussions about records and old school tapes.
