Eurythmics - Love is a Stranger is one of those timeless songs from the early 80's. I heard this recently (and was reminded why it is great) on the most recent edition of Eli Escobar & Mark Ronson's "Authentic Shit" radio show on "East Village Radio". It sits perfectly in an epic mix from Eli of a bunch of great tracks, most of which *I have never heard before.*

*(I am young, born in '81, most of these tracks originally came out when I was anywhere from 1 - 9 years old – insert laughter here.)

This clip reminds me of the mockery of itself, for the most part that rap has become. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's parody of tired themes that seem to have become commonplace in the majority of mainstream rap videos these days, is hilarious and so relevant right now.

This Carl Allegard directed video and the track "Good Times" itself, serve as a further testament to Joell Ortiz's talent on the mic. Look out for his forthcoming "Free Agent" project.

Sydney's DJ Ology threw this video up on the Stealth magazine board, probably about the same time Robbie posted it over at Unkut. So, it's only right you go check out his post on this ill new track/video from the Los Angeles based MC.

ERule's 1994 "Listen Up" / "Synopsis" 12's is one of the greatest rap double sided singles of all time, to me. I really got to go and give that "Cold Currentz" release a listen.

It's taken me a while to learn a little about and truly appreciate Southern Rap, so right now, it comes as no surprise that in 2008 the two US Rap albums aside from that hit the gut like a lot of the East Coast Boom Bap that got me into this music in the first place, are Bun B's - II Trill and Killer Mike's brand new record, mentioned above. To be blunt, Mike is making some of the most honest, reality based, motivational music, right now. Music to make the listener get up and take control of their lives. That's rare these days. Salute to a O.G.
